Street Medicine Program Teams with Mobile Clinic

CSUSB Nursing Avenue Drugs Plan partners with new mobile health care clinic

PALM DESERT – The CSUSB Nursing Street Medicine Program has been picked to partner with a new community cell clinic in the Coachella Valley.

The cell clinic – the outcome of collaborative initiatives concerning the Desert Health care District and Foundation, Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District, Desert Physicians Professional medical Group (DPMG) Health, and other group partners – was unveiled at Desert Regional Health care Center (DRMC) in Palm Springs on Dec. 2.

The new cell clinic is a 26-foot automobile with two assessment rooms, a whole bathroom and other features. It will be licensed and operated by DPMG Overall health, offering companies to ordinarily underserved communities throughout the Coachella Valley.

Nursing faculty and pupils from the CSUSB Nursing Avenue Medication Method will perform psychological wellness assessments and report the success to a psychiatric nurse practitioner who will job interview people on line and prescribe drugs. The nursing school and pupils will give prescription drugs to clients from the on-site supply of prescription drugs offered by the DRMC pharmacy method and pharmacy inhabitants.

The CSUSB Nursing Avenue Medicine Application will also supply nurse clinics and foot soaks to the vulnerable populations served by the cell device.

“We are so grateful to the District and DPMG for the chance to give distinctive behavioral well being telehealth products and services to the vulnerable populations in the valley and boost the availability of psychiatric medications for people with psychological well being and material abuse challenges,” claimed Diane Vines, CSUSB nursing faculty and director of the CSUSB Nursing Street Medicine Software. “I’d also like to thank the Houston Spouse and children Foundation for funding the behavioral overall health actions that the Nursing Street Drugs group will supply.”
